| Description |
This windmill located in Fabyan Park in Batavia Illinois was purchased as a kit from a Dutch company and assembled a few miles East of this location. It was later purchased by Colonel Fabyan and moved and rebuilt at this location. The park district operates the mill on some Sundays when the wind is steady but not too fast. Park district volunteers are on hand to give a history lesson and guided tours as well. Deze windmolen in Fabyan Park in Batavia, Illinois, werd als bouwpakket van een Nederlands bedrijf gekocht en enkele kilometers ten oosten van deze locatie in elkaar gezet. Het werd later gekocht door kolonel Fabyan en op deze locatie verplaatst en herbouwd. Het parkdistrict laat de molen op sommige zondagen draaien als de wind stabiel maar niet te snel is. Vrijwilligers in het parkdistrict staan voor u klaar om een geschiedenisles en rondleidingen te geven. |
