Hampi is one of finest historical sites of ancient age in the world located on the bank of Tungabhadra River.

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Hampi is charismatic even in its ruined state. Over 26 Sq.kilometers (10 sq. miles) of boulder-strewn hills and planes make the backdrop of Hampi unique. Dotted around the hills and their valleys are well 500 monuments and other attractions with numerous ruined temple complexes from the Vijayanagara Empire. On the south bank of the River Tungabhadra is the 7th-century Hindu Virupaksha Temple, near the revived Hampi Bazaar.
