Wenn du in dieser Nacht alles Stroh zu Gold gesponnen hast, dann wirst du meine Gemahlin. Wenn du aber kein Gold spinnen Kannst, dann mußt du sterben." Da weinte des Müllers Tochter bitterlich. = When the girl came to the castle, the king led her into a room full of straw and said: "Now get to work! If you have spun all the straw into gold during this night, then you will be my wife. But if you cannot spin gold, then you must die." Then the miller's daughter wept bitterly.
