Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Ruins of a quarry building These piles of worked slate blocks look as if they were once something to do with the adjacent quarry, but further information (from Mike Hurley) reveals that the 1901 census records two families being in residence at "Frondyrch" on the night the census was taken, Hannah Adams, a 63 year old single lady who is listed as having an occupation of "Laundress" running her own business and her sister Elizabeth, a single lady of 58 "Living on her own account". The census also shows, as a separate household Eyer James a 54 year old Carpenter running his own business and his wife Martha, 58. So, it was quite a busy little area at the time.
