Ruins of Dowlin Forge along the Struble Trail

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The Dowlin Forge was originally known as the Mary Ann Forge, for production of iron. It was first established by Samuel Hibbard in 1785 and remained in operation for more than 100 years. The forge changed names when John Dowlin acquired the forge in 1801. There is a plaque in the foreground of the image. There is also a historical marker on the ruins themselves.
