| Description |
English: Ruined farm with Mynydd Dinas beyond A substantial ruined farm composed of a collection of conjoined buildings. Its name was Capel(chapel): old maps indicate there was one close by but all trace has vanished. Strange that this place was abandoned when it has good access to turnpike road down the lane.
The remains of a tiled grate look 20th century but ivy and elder have made rapid inroads on the tumbledown walls. The front elevation was slate-hung. The distant Dinas Mountain, in the words of 18thc. Fishguard historian Richard Fenton, "terminates in a rocky nipple, and therefore [is] not inappropriately called the Maiden's Breast" - but that name has vanished too! |
