English: Ruin, Brewery Lane, Cockermouth. This circular structure looks at first glance like the base of a windmill, but the 1900 1:2500 map shows that it was a curved projection at the corner of a large building, otherwise demolished and replaced by the modern building on the left. Does anyone know what it was, and what has happened to it since January 2004? |
