Рудольф был с почетом похоронен в центральном нефе собора Мерзебурга. Его надгробие считается самым старым из сохранившихся в Германии, на котором изображен (без гарантированного портретного сходства) умерший. Бронзовая плита с рельефом была позолочена, в глазные впадины вставлены драгоценные камни, а сам умерший изображен с королевскими регалиями в руках, которых никогда не был удостоен. English: When 1077г. king Henry IV barefooted, begged in Canossa the Pope Gregor VII cancel imposed on him a curse that his enemies had elected king Rudolf von Rheinfelden or Rudolf of Swabia. Having received the forgiveness of Henry IV were opposed to Rudolph , and defeated him. In battle, Rudolph lost his right hand, which once raised, swearing allegiance to Henry.
Rudolph was buried with honor in the Central nave of the Cathedral of Merzeburg. His headstone is the oldest preserved in Germany, which shows (without a guaranteed likeness) dead. Bronze plate with relief were gilded in the eye socket inserted with precious stones, and the deceased is depicted with the Royal insignia in his hands, which were never awarded. The inscription on the plate says that since the time of Charlemagne there was no king whose dignity could .t be compared with the merits of Rudolph.

König Heinrich IV barfuß, der in der Kanosse von Papst Gregor VII die Abschaffung des Fluchs, der ihm auferlegt wurde, erstickte, wählten seine Gegner König Rudolf von Rheinfelden oder Rudolf schwabsky. Heinrich IV. erhielt Vergebung gegen Rudolf und zerschmetterte ihn. Im Kampf verlor Rudolf die Rechte Hand, die er einst aufgeworfen hatte, schwören auf Henrys treue.
Rudolf wurde im zentralen Neffe der Kathedrale von Merseburg begraben. Sein Grabstein gilt als der älteste in Deutschland erhaltene Grabstein, der (ohne garantierte portraitähnlichkeit) den Verstorbenen darstellt. Die Bronze-Platte mit Relief wurde vergoldet, in die Augenhöhlen eingefügt Edelsteine, und der verstorbene selbst ist mit königlichen Regalen in den Händen dargestellt, die nie geehrt wurde. Die Inschrift auf der Platte sagt, dass es seit der Zeit von Karl der Große keinen König gab, dessen würde nicht mit den Vorteilen von Rudolf verglichen werden könnten. |
