Summary
[edit]DescriptionRoyal initials on old bricks^ - geograph.org.uk - 929342.jpg |
English: Royal initials on old bricks? They can be seen on 929173, one of the ruined buildings that were used to house machinery and equipment connected with the stone quarries. Quarrying activities in this area, initially for slate, later for granite, lasted for almost 100 years from 1838 to 1931.
(The initials are perhaps those of George V who became king in 1911.) |
