English: Pictured is a Minigun being fired by HMS Monmouth's upper deck weapons crew.
The Minigun can fire 30 per second and up to 3000 rounds per minute. It fires 7.62mm rounds and is used as a close support weapon to neutralise a target. The gun crew conducted live firing drills while in transit to the Gulf of Aden. HMS Monmouth is starting a 6 month operational tour to the Middle East to conduct Counter Piracy and Maritime Security Operations.
