The road to Buckingham Palace on Buckingham Palace Road.
The royal mews, once a stable now a garage for Royal Family. The royal hawks were kept at this site from 1377 and the name derives from the fact that they were confined there at moulting (or “mew”) time.

Earlier C19. Yellow brick, Bath stone to ground floor. Hipped slate roof to parapet. 3 windows wide, 3 storeys. Central entrance in projecting Doric porch. Square headed windows, gauged heads to first and second floors. Sashes, glazing bars. Stone cornice. 5-window return to left with projecting Doric porch. Recessed pedimented 2-storey wing to left with 5-window return. Spearhead area railings. One of a pair of lodges flanking entrance to Royal Mews.
