Description
English: 040720-N-4104L-035 Mersing, Malaysia (July 20, 2004) – Construction Mechanic 3rd Class Michael Klinegardner, a member of the Beachmaster Unit (BMU) One, detachment Western Pacific's craft control team, explains his role in landing craft, air cushioned (LCAC) operations to landing force members of the Royal Malay Regiment (RMR). The BMU’s craft control team clears debris and sets up navigation markers for inbound LCACs. Two LCACs transported 150 RMR troops, embarked in USS Fort McHenry (LSD 43), during an amphibious assault as part of the Malaysia phase of exercise Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT).
