Summary
[edit]DescriptionRoyal High School - geograph.org.uk - 302803.jpg |
English: Royal High School The second site of the Royal High School and later the 1970's choice for the Scottish Parliament, which was stopped after a disputed referendum in 1979. The cancellation of the very limited devolution in 1979 led to the SNP voting with the Conservatives in a vote of no confidence and the downfall of the Labour government paving the way for the election of Margaret Thatcher. Not adopted for the current parliament for purely party political reasons.
The Royal High School itself moved to a new site at Davidson's Mains in the northwest of the city after outgrowing the building. |
