Description Garrett Gilmore of the USA, winner of the world's sculling singles championship, in Duluth Minnesota on 18th September 1923. Gilmore went on to win the silver medal in the event at the Paris Summer Olympic Games in 1924 and a gold medal in the men's double sculls at the 1932 Games.
