Summary
[edit]DescriptionRow counters from USA 002.jpg |
Four knitting row counters made for sale in the USA in 2000-2010. On the left are the blue and red Wrights Boye counters made in China. These are for US 0-8 needles (2-5mm), and US 6-10.5 (4.25-6.5mm). The friction between the polygonal inner barrels and the polygonal outer skin keeps the numerals in place, but this construction can make the barrels difficult to turn. On the right are the brown Balene II Boye counters made in India for Wrights. These are for US 6-10.5 needles (4-6.5mm), and US 0-8 (2-5mm). Although the outer appearance of these is polygonal, the friction comes from precise engineering which enhances the friction and the ease of turning the barrels. |
