Notes The frontispiece shows a cricket match in progress. Part of the Series: Routeledge’s Sixpenny Handbooks 32mo. boards, 6d. each.” Robin de Beaumont’s notes are on the upper endpaper recto. The upper pastedown has the bookplate of the Marylebone Cricket Club. Publisher’s titles are printed on both endpapers and pastedowns. Green dyed paper. The lower cover has a list of works by J. W. Benson. The upper cover as red borders. The figure of a batsman (Edmund Routledge?) wearing a red striped shirt and white trousers, is standing at the wicket, left hand on hip, right hand holding a bat upright, in front of stumps and bails. A cricket pavilion is in the background. The lettering is: “Price six pence/ Cricket/ by/ Edmund Routledge/” The imprint is at the tail. The signature: “Dalziel” is at the bottom left hand corner of the upper cover. The spine is mostly missing. At the base of the lower cover: “Edmund Evans, Engraver and Printer, Raquet Court, Fleet Street.” Other copies ar (Probably) at: C194a172 (1862); 7907a53 (1862 second edition); 7907aa19(1866)
