Description

One of my colleagues is a <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scale_model" rel="nofollow">model-making</a> enthusiast. He is constantly looking for new and challenging projects. One of his ideas was to create scale models of various objects made out of plastic customer <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loyalty_program" rel="nofollow">loyalty cards</a> from various shops.

The open top <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Routemaster" rel="nofollow">Routemaster double-decker bus</a> is made out of (about seven or eight) <a href="http://www.kruidvat.nl" rel="nofollow">Kruidvat</a> <a href="http://www.kruidvat.nl/your-card" rel="nofollow">Jouw extravoordeelkaart</a> cards. Construction materials used are a jigsaw, cutting blades, <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyanoacrylate" rel="nofollow">cyanoacrylate glue</a> and <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adhesive#Contact_adhesives" rel="nofollow">contact adhesive</a>. The wheels were purchased (a long time ago) at <a href="http://www.wiking.de/" rel="nofollow">Wiking Modelbau</a> and the window panes are bits and pieces of old stock. The license plate of the car is (by tradition) its year of construction. The models also have a few numbers written on the underside, which corresponds to the serial number of the blueprint the model was based on and also a serial number of the scale model itself.

The <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/20_cent_euro_coin" rel="nofollow">20 cent euro coin</a> is for scale comparison.
