| Description |
(1 in a multiple picture set) The small railroad town of Hackberry thrived along Old Rt. 66. It was named for the fruit bushes around the spring there. Today not much of the town exists, but this old gas station and surrounding ruins is really worth the stop. The people here have souvenirs of the road, and lots of historical pictures and artifacts. You can see that there was once a auto repair shop here, along with several duplex cabins. It is a great spot to get pictures of what the Mother Road used to look like. |
