Summary

English: Two of the local route 2 minibuses waiting at the bus stop in Trewidden Road in St Ives, Cornwall, which serves the Trenwith Car Park. The route runs from here to Royal Square in the town, as a seasonal limited stop service, primarily for tourists visting the town. As of 11 April 2011 it was being jointly operated by two local companies - the St. Ives Bus Co. Ltd of Rosewall Terrace, and Nicholas Eastwood (t/a Royal Buses of Victoria Heights). (Registrations PH1086607/12 & PH1053866/14). This followed a period of acrimony between the two over the route [1]. The bus infront is a Mercedes-Benz T2 Mk2 minibus with Alexander Sprint bodywork, which were built from the late 1980s to the mid-1990s. It's one of the few examples that still have both its Mercedes model badge (under the right headlamp) and the Alexander badge (below the grill and the Mercedes main circular badge). It's not clear which operator owns it, but the Royal Buses website features a photo of one with both badges intact, albeit with a white bumper not a black one. |
