[edit]DescriptionRoute 2, Town of Florida, Irene Flooding Damage, September 2011 (6152949197).jpg |
Route 2 damage in the Town of Florida seen above due to flooding from Tropical Storm Irene. Route 2 remains closed from Mile Marker 21.6 in Florida to Mile Marker 27.5 in Charlemont. Damage along the closed portion of Route 2 includes severe slope failures, roadway undermining and instability, eroded bridge approaches, mud slides, and culvert and retaining wall damage. At Route 2 Mile Marker 25, flooding caused a river channel to relocate where the roadway and abutting rest area previously existed. The magnitude of the damage and significant repairs necessary will require an extended period of time to restore the roadway. MassDOT is committed to an accelerated repair process, beginning with slope stabilization in North Adams and Florida along with temporary repairs for a 3.5 mile segment of Route 2 in Savoy. MassDOT anticipates bidding for accelerated construction contracts to complete the reconstruction of the roadway will begin immediately next week. A Detour Route with local signage is listed below. From North Adams: Route 8, Adams, to Route 116 through Adams, Savoy, Plainfield, and Ashfield, to Route 112 through Ashfield and Buckland, to Route 2, East Charlemont. |

Definition of "public record"
Public records are defined in A Guide to the Massachusetts Public Records Law, Published by William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Division of Public Records, (Updated January 2017) at https://www.mass.gov/files/2017-06/Public%20Records%20Law.pdf on page 40, under M. G. L. c. 4, § 7(26) as:
Limitations of template usage
This is consistent with the statement at http://www.sec.state.ma.us/ARC/arcres/residx.htm:
Note: Works that are considered "public records" but were not created by a state or municipal government agency may be copyrighted by their author; the Supremacy Clause of the United States Constitution prevents state law from overriding the author's right to copyright protection that is granted by federal law. For example, a state agency may post images online of the final appearance of a building under construction; while the images may be "public records", their creator (eg. architecture/construction firm) retains copyright rights to the image unless the contract with the agency says otherwise. See: Government-in-the-Sunshine Manual: To what extent does federal law preempt state law regarding public inspection of records?. |
