| Description |
English: Roupell Street, Waterloo One of the most atmospheric streets in London - a gift for film makers; it is hard to believe that this scene is only a short walk from Waterloo Station. Roupell Street was developed by John Palmer Roupell, a gold refiner, in the 1820s as housing for artisan workers (the houses therefore pre-date the station); it is now part of a conservation area. The days when this was cheap accommodation for working people are long gone; a three bedroom house on the street is currently on the market for £650,000. |
