[edit]
Description
English: Round barrows on Highdown This is a pair of Bronze Age bowl barrows, aligned north-south. The nearer one is about 10 metres in diameter, the other is slightly larger. The mound in the foreground was excavated in 1817 and a cremation burial in a ceramic urn was found. The Solent and mainland can be seen in the distance, including Hurst Castle at the end of Hurst Spit (towards the left).
