Summary

[edit]
Description Cool. Schouwburgplein The square based on the sunlight and uses, is divided into three functional areas. Each functional area has its own surface material. The area with the construction of the cinema or the entrances to the parking garage has an epoxy screed. The business has a floor area of standard metal panels. The seating zone with custom designed narrow wooden benches and hydraulic lighting columns is made of wood and rubber. The bended lamp posts refer with their design to harbour cranes. There are also distinctive ventilation towers, necessary for ventilating the car park. Arch. Adriaan Geuze 1990-97. In 2010, a proposal was accepted to adjust the square in various ways,to satisfy the critics and also partly because of the changed use. The modifications were designed by West 8.
