| Description |
Grade I listed The church dates from the late 11th century onwards and has an Anglo-Saxon west tower. It was restored in 1892. There is a west tower, nave with north and south aisles, south porch, and chancel. The south porch dates from the 12th century and there is more 11th century work in parts of the nave and the tower arch. The north and south arcades are of three bays and date from the 12th century. The piers are circular. There is a 12th century lancet window at the east end of the south aisle. The chancel was restored in 1892. The roof was left unfinished by the joiner who was called up in the First World War. The alabaster altar was given by Bishop Edward King of Lincoln. There is a modern stained-glass window by Glenn Carter in the south aisle. In the churchyard there are several graves for the Nickerson family. |
