Summary

[edit]
Description I'm not a fan of encouraging people to stand in the doorways, but lots and lots of people do it (my hypocritical self included) so it's good to give them something to hold on to. Many Seattleites have asked for this feature in our LRVs. These Korean-made Rotem LRVs have much more room in the doorways than our Japanese-made Kinki Sharyo LRVs. Also add the fact that the Canada Line is entirely grade separated--you can pretty much make the LRVs as big as is practical. This is pretty evident in the bike storage area. It's large enough that if there's no bike there you could fit a dinner table in there, or, during crush loads, at least 3 dozen people standing. I should've snapped a photo of that area. Check out this this and this and you pretty much get the idea of how huge of a space it is.
