Description

Situada a l'extrem de migjorn del terme municipal de la Garriga, ben a prop d'un camp de golf i d'un antic camp d'aviació. La família titular del casal, els Rosanes, apareixen documentats al segle X. S'extingiren al segle XVI i aleshores la propietat passà a mans dels Masdovelles, antecessors del marquès d'Alfarràs.

L'edifici, en el seu perfil actual, ha sofert diverses modificacions. La planta original, amb quatre torres que flanquejaven els costats, fou reformada ja al final de l'època romànica, en construir-se en un dels flancs de la capella consagrada a sant Joan. A partir del segle XIV s'adossaren dos cossos arquitectònics nous a la banda de migjorn i des de fa segles el conjunt ha esdevingut masia. Tant els murs del recinte murat exterior -amb dos dels flancs en forma de torres circulars- com els del casal mostren una gran quantitat d'espitlleres i són coronats per merlets, que esdevenen la part romànica del conjunt, juntament amb el cos central -corresponent al casal- que té una torre de planta quadrada adossada. En aquest darrer punt es devia situar l'únic accés a la casa on encara hi ha els encaixos de la porta.
