The relief memorial plaque in memory of the Rondella by Gyula Maugsch (1929) The approximately 100x150 cm white marble slab with a 60x90 cm recessed cityscape relief depicts the demolished Rondella and the Greek Orthodox church with its original tower. Inscription: ~Here stood the bastion tower known as the Rondella, / which, according to tradition, was erected by King Sigismund / 1387-1437 / for the protection of the city.//In it he found shelter and/the first Hungarian-language theatrical performance in Pest/held here on October 27, 1790/by the first/"National Hungarian Theatre Society under the direction of László Kelemen"./the ill-fated creator of the theatre art fighting for national ideals./The rondella was demolished in 1815 for the development of the city. - 4 Régiposta Street, Inner City, 5th district of Budapest.
