Description
English: Part of a Roman copper alloy toilet article, possibly an ear scoop. The tool end of the piece is missing to an old break and the remaining shaft is broken in the centre. The shaft is circular in section in the centre, becoming flatter and more rectangular in section towards each end. The complete end is rounded with a circular perforation thoguh it. The shaft widens slightly towards the broken end. It measures 65.2 mm in total length. The fragments are 25.4mm long, 4.0mm wide and 1.8mm thick and 40.3mm, 4.4mm wide and 3.2mm thick respectively. The shank is 3.0mm in diameter and the total article weighs 3.62g.
