Roman steelyard weight
Description
English: Roman bi-conical cast lead steelyard weight. The upper part is taller and more conical than the lower, flatter, part. The weight has a circular sectioned iron wire projecting top and bottom which would originally have extended into the suspension loop. The central ridge where the two conical ends meet is slightly rounded as are the top and bottom points.
