Roman steelyard weight |
||
Description |
English: An incomplete steelyard weight of Roman date (c. AD 43-410). The body of the weight is biconical and made of lead, with an integral iron rod running through the centre. At the top is a broken attachment loop, while the bottom of the iron shank is broken but may originally have formed a hook. The weight is damaged, leaving an irregular shape below the median circumferential rib.
