Description
English: Treasure reference number: 2007 T58. A silver Roman finger ring, Henig Type XI. The ring has a broad flat bezel with an oval recess containing a silver intaglio. The intaglio depicts an erotic scene of a male and female standing facing each other. On the left is a female with her right arm raised and her hand cupping the male’s head. The male is shown with an erect phallus and broad, muscular legs allowing him to be identified with the demi-god Pan or Faunus.
