| Description |
English: Roman road near East Tytherley. This view looking west-south-west is on the line of part of the Roman road between Winchester and Old Sarum, the original site of Salisbury, see 476555. The actual line could lie within the dense but narrow band of trees to the right, see 463893. Whatever the exact position of the road, it gently slopes down to a byway that is in the line of trees that crosses north-south in the middle distance. It then slowly climbs the field beyond to a point near the larger tree on the left on the horizon which is near Buckholt Farm, and there rejoins an unclassified road. |
