Title
Roman hair pin, copper alloy
Description
English: Roman copper alloy hairpin, hipped. The spherical head allows the pin to be classified as Crummy's Type 3, though these seem to have been current throughout the Roman period. The pin's shank has been bent through 90 degrees. This is not uncommon in pins of this type, and may relate to use, rather than post-depositional disturbance.
