Title
Roman figurine of Mars
Description
English: A cast lead alloy figurine depicting a male figure. The object is anthropomorphic and appears to be complete. It can be dated from the Medieval to the Post-Medieval period. The figurine is standing facing forwards with his arms crossed in front of his chest. The stomach is rounded and the legs are defined by a groove at the front of the object. The figure has stylised hair which is worn but comes down over the ears. The facial features have worn away but remains of a moulded beard are visible.

The rear of the object narrows at the waist however there is no detailed decoration. The figure appears to be naked as there is no evidence of drapery; however details of the body are also not defined. The legs terminate with rounded stumps which are worn but appear to be complete. The object has a mid white patina and is in good condition.
