Description |
English: A Roman copper alloy disc brooch (2nd century). The brooch has a looped head plate. On the other side of the head plate are twin lugs with the remains of the pin present between them. The rest of the pin is broken and missing. The catchplate is also broken across the curved section. The reverse of the brooch is hollow. The brooch is circular and domed. It is decorated with an internal ring of tear-drop shaped sections of inlaid pale blue glass then there is an external ring of triangular shaped sections of inlaid dark blue glass.
