Description
English: 22 copper alloy Roman coins, all sestertii or sub-units thereof, scattered over an area.

The hoard has a couple of late coins, an as that is clearly a 3rd century coin and a sestertius of a mid-third century empress. It may well fall into the category of late 3rd century scrap metal hoards, the coins being intended for recycling as irregular radiates or other items of metalwork.

2) Sestertius, utterly illegible, probably Trajanic or Hadrianic to Antonine, c.98-192
3) As of Antoninus Pius, Rome, reverse BRITANNIA type, AD154-5
4) Sestertius, probably Antonine, obverse illegible, reverse Salus or Pietas standing left at altar, well worn, c.138-92
5-6) Sestertii (2), corroded and utterly illegible, probably Antonine, c.138-192
7) Sestertius of Marcus Aurelius, Rome, reverse female standing left, AD161-80.
