Discussion: Roman republican coins are known for their longevity, and it seems that most are lost in Britain during the second half of the 1st century AD. They do not go out of circulation until the reign of Hadrian (AD 117 - 138). This, and the scarcity of Republican coins in South Yorkshire make it likely that these coins were originally deposited together as a hoard or purse loss some time after AD 74. They should thus be considered as Treasure under the 1996 Act.

Similar hoards include NCL-7902B6 (2008 T767) and SUSS-423954 (2008 T460).
