Roman coin: Roman Republican denarius
Description
English: A plated Roman republican denarius of L. Appuleius Saturninus dating to 104 BC (Reece Period 1). L SATVRN in exergue reverse type depicts Saturn in a quadriga riding right. Prototype from mint of Rome. Sear 193; RRC 317/3b.

A large part of the plated surface of the obverse is missing together with the central part of the copper-alloy core.
