English: A Roman silver denarius serratus of the Republican period; Sear no. 309, minted by C. Naevius Balbus, in 79 BC. The coin's surfaces are very worn and slightly corroded. It measures 17.8mm in diameter, 1.6mm thick and weighs 2.96g.
