English: A denarius of Septimius Severus dating to AD (Reece 10). PM TR P XVIII COS III PP (Neptune standing left, right foot on globe, holding trident in left hand. Mint of Rome. The silver is heavily tarnished and there is some preferential corrosion of the copper alloy content.
