Roman coin: Denarius of Plautilla
Description
English: A Roman base silver denarius of Plautilla dating to the period AD 202 to 205 (Reece period 10). VENVS VICTRIX type with a reverse depicting Venus bare to waist, standing left, holding apple and palm and resting left elbow on shield: at her feet left Cupid. Minted at Rome. RIC IV, part 1, no. 369.

Two small spots of copper-alloy corrosion product on the edge could be explained as base-metal elements coming through a thickly plated exterior or deposition near copper-alloy coins.
