Roman Vessel: Skillet Handle
Description
English: A flat cast copper-alloy handle which has broken from a Roman deep skillet/saucepan. The handle is flared where it once attached to the vessel and narrows in the middle, expanding again to a flattened disc terminal with a circular perforation in its centre. The upper face of the handle is decorated with grooves along its outside edges. Additionally, there is a triangle of grooved circles on the shaft of the handle before it expands to the terminal.
