English: A silver Roman Republican denarius of Quintus Caecilius Metellus Pius Scipio, (ca. 100/98 BC - 46 BC), struck in Africa in 47-46BC. Metellus Scipio was an imperator (military commander) and consul in North Africa. He was an ally of Pompey and fought against Caesar. Sear (1988) 317.
