Title
Roman Plate Brooch fragment
Description
English: Copper alloy Plate Brooch fragment, possibly with enamel, possibly Mackreth type OBJECT 4. Cast plate, now of trefoil appearance although only that lobe with a catch plate stub on the back is likely to retain its original form. This lobe appears to have a compass drawn ring and dot at its centre. The surface is elsewhere disrupted by corrosion though there is the suspicion of further incised detail and possibly enamel traces. Suggested date: Roman, 175-250.

Length: 18.2mm, Width: 13.3mm, Thickness: 2.2mm, Weight: 2.06gms.
