Description
English: One plate from the shoulder hinge of a Romano-British cuirass in lorica segmentata, consisting of two equally-shaped sheets secured by convex-headed rivets, three in the trefoil terminal and two next to the hinge pivot, which is badly distorted. Compare with those from Longthorpe in Frere and St. Joseph 1974, 47-9, fig. 26 nos. 17-20, as well as Appels and Laycock 2007, fig. AA6.27. The surviving piece of this example measures 25mm x 27.5mm. It dates from the 1st-early 2nd century.
