English:  A scattered coin hoard [or hoards; if so, of broadly similar date] of later Roman copper alloy radiates ranging from good, more generally fair condition, including 60 objects recognised to date, discovered by two finders. Of these, four coins have already been recorded as: NLM-2B3557, NLM-2B41FC, NLM-2B4EB4 and NLM-2B5A2C [locations listed on this record as nos. 15-18]. Those which initially lent themselves to identification were commemorative issues in honour of Claudius II (268-270) and may point to a date of deposition c.270, Reece period 13. Though the group includes coins from the mints of Rome and Milan, many are probably irregular, though not barbarous. All the coins were individually plotted, and fall within a restricted area. Given the number and material of related objects, they are to be submitted for consideration as possible Treasure, ref. 2019 T977.

14: Copper alloy coin. Radiate indeterminate; later Roman issue of 260-296, retaining no discernible detail on either side of a worn thin reddish flan. Identification is offered on the basis of similarity with 17 other coins from the immediate vicinity, with which the finder includes this coin. All are thought to derive from the same dispersed hoard. Without this context, the coin would have been regarded as a radiate or nummus indeterminate.

This fact need not rule out its inclusion in that hoard, albeit as a much older component than most – early Roman finds are not abundant from the vicinity.
