Description
English: Incomplete Roman copper alloy Dragonesque brooch, one end missing, the other with a round cell inlaid with red enamel and another with white and surrounded by an annular cell filled with red. The S-shaped body has a line of conjoined poionted ovals reserved on an enamelled field (enamel missing). Length >34mm. Width 20mm. The decorative motif is not paralelled in Kilbride-Jones (1980), Hattatt (2000) or Mackreth (2011). 2nd century
