Roman : Brooch
Description
English: A cast copper alloy Roman Tutulus type disc brooch dating to the 2nd century AD. The brooch is fragmentary; the pin is missing. The remaining fragment consists of part of the central boss and approximately 60% of the outer border. The boss has a concave reverse, with the double lug and a fragment of the catchplate remaining in situ. The surface and breaks are extremely worn with a mid greyish green patina.
