Summary
[edit]DescriptionRoman-period ossuaries in a Jewish tomb (6609843327).jpg |
This tomb, with it's niches (or kokkhim) radiating out from a small central chamber, were distinctive of Hellenistic and early-Roman Jewish tombs in the holy land. The tomb ceiling was later replaced by a dome (which has since collapsed) in the Byzantine period. Located on the grounds of the Dominus Flevit church on the lower sloped of the Mount of Olives. |
