| Description |
English: Rocket launching post at Filey A company was formed in the 19th century called The Filey Volunteer Life Saving Rocket Company. The idea being that apparatus attached to this rocket post was used to fire a line towards stricken ships in distress off Filey Brigg. I am unaware as to whether this method was ever successful.
